Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a national debt counseling charityworking through a network of centres based in local churches. Surrey Chapel is a CAP centre providing FREE debt management and the CAP Money budgeting course to those living in the Norwich area.  Both are open to all regardless of age, race, background or religious belief.

CAP aims to show God’s love in action by providing sustainable poverty relief through debt counseling, advice and practical help. CAP’s unique ‘hands on’ approach empowers people to help themselves out of poverty and be released from the fear, oppression and worry generated by overwhelming debts.

How Does It Work?

We work with clients to create a budget that both allows for life’s essentials and frees some money to clear your debts over time.  CAP negotiates on behalf of clients with all the organisations owed money to reach an agreed repayment plan. We also help clients to save for the future, whether this be known costs, such as renewing a TV license, Road Tax, MOT or more general savings to help cover the costs of Christmas and birthdays.

If you think we can help you please call 0800 328 0006 to make an appointment or click here to visit the CAP Website

CAP Money Course

Helping clients to recover from debt is hugely important – but so is helping to avoid debt in the first place. CAP Money is a FREE three-session course, each lasting about 90 minutes, which guides attendees on how to manage their money to meet their living needs and avoid unmanageable debt. Dates for forthcoming courses will be posted on this website but if you would like to be advised by email please send us your address to capmoney@surreychapel.org.uk
